Kick Kennedy is a granddaughter of the late Senator Robert F. Kennedy and the eldest daughter of environmental activist Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. She is a student at Stanford University, where she is majoring in history with an emphasis on literature and the arts.
Kick’s passion is travel. She and her father recently embarked on a white water rafting trip down the Colorado River with their friends Wade Davis, a noted anthropologist, and his daughter, Tara. Their adventures were documented in the Imax film Grand Canyon Adventures, produced by MacGillivray-Freeman. The film helps raise awareness for the world water crisis and the importance of water conservation.
Following her family’s footsteps, Kick has interned for her “Uncle Ted on the hill” – Senator Ted Kennedy, that is. And, as part of a work-study program for school, she is currently interning at Rolling Stone magazine – where she hopes to hone her skills as a future journalist.
Kick is an ambassador for the Waterkeeper Alliance, the global organization connecting and supporting Waterkeeper programs on six continents to provide a voice for waterways and their communities, waterkeeper.org. More specifically to her area, Kick is an active supporter of Riverkeeper, the organization dedicated to the protection and the ecological integrity of the Hudson River and its tributaries, and to the safeguarding of the drinking water supply of New York City and the lower Hudson Valley.
